Responsible Way To Take Pills

Here’s a quick history lesson for you…

In the 1960’s, the pharmaceutical companies started to explode.

Different types of medications were introduced in the market.

It was also around this time when taking pills for just about anything began to really take off.

There were pills to feel better, sleep better, lose weight and many more problems that humans face.

Name it, and there’s most likely a tablet or a capsule for it.

The idea of popping pills to “make your problems go away” is so seductive and attractive.

But we have to be aware of the deeper psychology that is going on here.

 

Dangers Of Weight Loss Pills

“Pill Psychology”  is the idea of putting all your hope into a pill and the belief that the pill is going to save you.

I still see smart, educated, successful and brilliant women get sucked into this mentality.

Some just see an ad on the internet or hear about a friend who is taking some supplement and they do the same.

Many women pop these pills to lose weight but then they go out and eat hamburgers, fries and sugary foods and they think that these pills can do the work for them.

These pills are marketed as vitamins, supplements  and energy boosters.

However,  they are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration or the FDA.

Nobody watches out for the integrity of what’s really in these medications.

Thus, the manufacturers can put anything on them without any obligation to disclose ALL the ingredients.

By the way, some of them are definitely toxic.

Now, I’m not saying that all pills are dangerous.

There are still some that are truly medicinal and can help to eliminate systems and even cure illnesses and disorders.

The real issue here is that if you are taking these pills without knowing the baseline of your hormones, enzymes, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, etc. then you will never know how these pills are truly effecting you. 

This is what I believe is missing  in our culture –  personal responsibility.

When you start to take responsibility for your health, you will no longer be tricked or scammed.

You will be able to avoid putting toxins in your body.

You will stop searching for something outside of yourself to fix your problems, and you will begin searching for the source of your issues that can only be found within yourself.

Responsible Weight Loss

What To Do:

  • Before you take any pills, go to a doctor to get a prescription for your blood work.
  • Work with a trained physician who will monitor your blood work to determine whether you are low on specific vitamins or if you have any condition that needs to be addressed.
  • The physician then prescribes you with the right medication and dosage for your condition.  Preferably choose an Integrative Medicine Doctor because they are aware of the highest quality medicines or supplements.  These pills are certified organic, third party tested and the prescribing doctors have done ample research on them.
  • Take them for 90 days and then do a blood work test to see how the supplements are affecting you.
  • Have regular visits to your doctor so your blood work and your health can be monitored.

 

This is the ONLY responsible and conscious way of taking pills.

Pills should be uniquely prescribed. 

Not every human needs the same thing.  No two humans are the same.

When you take them blindly, it will possibly do more damage than good.

When you take a pill without awareness, it can take away the most important part of the journey which is the confidence of knowing that you’ve got the strength inside of you to overcome anything. 

Your body is YOUR responsibility.

I hear so many women tell me that they are doing everything I advise them.

They eat nutritious foods, exercise and cut out sugar and chemicals.

And still, they do not lose weight.

Their bodies are the same or worse. They may even have more fat especially around their bellies.

This is the point when I ask them, “Where are your stress levels?”

They start to tell me that they are overworked, always rushing and pressured to please everyone around them.

This is when I explain the damaging effects of being in a constant state of stress.

 

What Causes Belly Fat?

Stress can manifest in your body in many different forms.

Unfortunately, one of them is BELLY FAT.

When you live your life in a state of agitation, frustration and hyper responsiveness, this causes belly fat.

It is a sign that stress is taking over your body — specifically the nervous and endocrine system.

When stress affects your nervous system, you are unable to react clearly.

You become anxious, emotional and irritable.

This can bring you into a state of confusion where you cannot make the best choices for your body.

The endocrine system deals with the different hormones of  the body.

Your body’s specific way to respond to stress is to release the stress hormone called Cortisol.

Your Adrenal glands are small glands located on top of the kidneys that are responsible for releasing this hormone.

In our modern world, this hormone is being pumped at a much higher rate, and the adrenal glands were never designed to do this.

Most women are pulled in different directions throughout the day, and you may feel that you need to fulfill many roles.

There are always people who need you and want to have your attention.

There is a sense of pressure to do what is expected of you.

What this does to your brain is to tell you that you’re in danger so you go into “fight or flight” mode.

This stressed-out state sends the signal to pump up the Cortisol.

All the blood floods into your brain because you need to think quickly and respond faster.

There is not enough blood going to your digestive organs, and you are not able to fully digest your food.

This can lead to digestive issues such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, bloating and yes, belly fat storage.

This is how excess Cortisol causes fat storage in the abdominal area.

 

How To Lose Belly Fat

Reducing the amount of cortisol in your body is one of the best opportunities you have to stop storing belly fat.

Now let’s be realistic… you can’t eliminate cortisol completely!

When released at the right time and at the right amount, cortisol is very beneficial.

It’s going to allow you to really focus and concentrate when you need it.

Pumping Cortisol all day long is the problem because it causes Adrenal fatigue.

You can avoid going to that extreme state by managing your stress levels in healthy ways.

 

Natural Ways To Relieve Stress

  • Meditate.
  • Get a relaxing massage.
  • Go for a walk.
  • Laugh with a friend or see a funny movie.
  • Have a bubble bath.
  • Play with your kids.

Whatever you do, do it from a place of peace. Be gentle with yourself.

Remember, there is no such thing as “perfect”. We all have our experiences in life that give us stress. It’s about how we manage that stress daily that will determine how your body processes it.

We can study the science of fitness, exercise and nutrition but without addressing the stress epidemic, losing weight and eliminating belly fat is not going to happen.

I often hear women say that they can’t seem to keep their weight off.

They lose weight temporarily but they gain it back just as fast as when they lost it.

The Beauty Of Meditation

Meditation is an ancient practice that has been around for thousands of years.

It is the art of quieting the noise in your mind.

I also believe that there’s a deep science around it.

When you study the biology of the body, meditation touches on the points that create a calmer well being.

Humans have this incredible thinking organ called the brain.

The brain has evolved for survival. It constantly looks for what it needs to protect you from.

It is NOT here to allow you to thrive.

The only way that human beings can transcend the lower vibrations of survival (aka fear, hate, judgement or pain) is through meditation.

It is referencing to the chi or the center of the third eye.

If you look at the biology of the brain, the Pineal gland is located in the part where the the third eye is located. The Pineal gland is responsible for night time sleep cycles.

During the day, this gland releases Serotonin, which is the neurotransmitter associated with the feeling of happiness.

At night time, it sends out Melatonin which is responsible for peaceful sleep or deep REM.

Humans are bilateral creatures. That means we have two sides that are mirror images of each other.

We are literally split down the middle, the right and the left.

Most women that I work with are malnourished, meaning you are not getting the nutrition that your body and brain need.

Even when you eat so much of it, your body will still tell you that it is craving for much more!

Stop Your Weight Gain Triggers

After coaching thousands of women through the weight loss journey, I’ve seen that you can have everything going great… but when you run into an emotional or mental trigger, you break down.

It’s important to understand what these triggers are, where they come from and how you can prevent them from sabotaging your weight loss success.

Newsflash: When you are on the healthy path, you are going to run directly into people and their excuses for why they can’t start and stick with their own weight loss journey.

Be prepared for this.

It is so important that you are able to hold your peace and light, and to not allow other people to affect you and take you off your path.

The goal is to recognize and stop the trigger as quickly as possible.

What Is A Trigger?

A TRIGGER is when you experience yourself as having an out of control reaction. In other words, you have an extreme response to something that happens.

When a trigger happens, you lose your ability to respond from your highest Self.

This can show up in different ways. Some people start to yell, shake, cry, say hurtful things, shut down or have obsessive thoughts.

They are triggered because they are so overwhelmed with emotions and they don’t know how to handle this in a healthy and productive way.

This also happens when people are consciously or unconsciously confronted with a particular truth that they are trying very hard to avoid.

They are denying that this situation exists and it has a huge impact on their emotional stability at the moment.

Their interpretation of the situation is making them react this way.

What To Do When You Get Triggered

When you recognize that you are triggered, you have the opportunity to do what most humans will never do.

Because you are a person committed to your own internal, personal growth, it is an opportunity to take the mirror of reflection and really look at yourself.

Be willing to ask “Why did I get triggered and why did I allow that to happen?”

You need to take 100% responsibility and own all of it.

When you do this, you will have the power inside of yourself to make the change.

Blaming others is like trying to change something that you don’t have control over.

When you focus on yourself, you will have more awareness and you will see  that you will be able to get through the most difficult situations.

You will be able to handle your reaction in a productive, healthy and loving way —  in alignment with your highest Self.

 

THE TRIGGER SWITCH: Two Common Triggers

  1. Expectations That Are Not Being Met
    Expectations will only lead to disappointment. When other people do not meet your expectations, this can cause you to be triggered.Start by looking at whether your expectations are setting them up to fail because they way too high. Look at the world through their eyes and bring some empathy and compassion.

    By being able to put yourself in another person’s perspective, you begin to have more understanding.

  2. Fear That Has Not Been Faced Yet
    When you encounter fear, it will send out a rush of chemicals like cortisol, which is the stress hormone.This can cause an extreme reaction because your brain is sending out a signal – “I’m in danger. I need to fight or flight”.When you recognize fear and actually feel it, run to the fear and face it head on.When you put yourself in a situation that you’ve got fear around (of course, this is not life-threatening or survival fear but maybe fear of speaking up, or fear of asking for that promotion), you are training your brain to be calm and in control.

    Be the person who is willing to see the fear as an opportunity to grow and not as an excuse to shut down or to be triggered.

In your weight loss journey, these triggers can become obstacles to achieve success.

They can be the obstacles that take you off your healthy path.

It’s time that we choose the highest version of ourselves. 

See these triggers as opportunities to grow and become stronger.

You will find that when you come back to the journey, you will have more richness and depth in your experience.

Shine Your Light On Toxic People

Imagine this…

You seem to be on a path of growth and you believe that you can achieve anything you want.

You feel so good about yourself!

Suddenly, you run into a conflict with a peer,  a co-worker or even someone you admire.

I say DO THE OPPOSITE.  

RUN TO THEM AND EVEN THANK THEM.

Take the belief that the best form of protection is owning your stuff.

When someone triggers me, I immediately go “Wow that really hurt but what is in me that has not been addressed yet?  What is that shadow that I’m too scared to look at?  Why does that person trigger me?”

In the 20 years of spiritual and metaphysical release, every time I ask these questions, I get an answer that allows me to go deeper.

Anytime someone shows up as toxic or threatening, I immediately question myself as to who I need to be so that I can thank the person for making me look deeper at this part of my journey.

When you have the same thinking, it will empower you and give you so much strength and light that you can walk into a room and thrive in an environment of toxic people.

 

What you need to remember is that when someone is becoming toxic around you, it’s because you have shown them so much light.

You become the vessel that awakens the toxicity inside of them.

They are detoxifying and healing right in front of your eyes and that’s an incredible experience.

You’re not arguing, agreeing or disagreeing or even engaging.

Engaging in confrontation with toxic people causes so much stress in our lives.

And as we all know, stress causes unwanted fat storage.

 

Choose to be the woman who has no arguments to prove, no arms to bear and no judgements to defend.

Your will have a more profound sense of who you are and your body will release all that protection that is showing up as body fat and unwanted weight gain.

Crystals are very cool to the touch.

As you hold them or place them onto your body, they actually become warm.

It begins to take on the heat of your body.

This is a very therapeutic and healing feeling to so many.

Crystals can also take away your stress and tension.

Just holding them can be a very soothing experience.

Crystals For Inner Peace

Many believe that crystals can take away the negative energy around us.

When you have crystals in your home, you can actually feel a sense of lightness in the space.

My experience with having crystals in my life is that they do cleanse the environment, creating a safe bubble of healing around me.

I hold my crystals in the morning while I do my meditation. The touch of the crystals in my hand gives me a sense of grounding while the energy that is moving through them seems to uplift, cleanse and clarify.

When you set the intention, they can help to take the negative thoughts away.

It just feels so peaceful and grounding all at the same time.

Crystals As A Powerful Symbol

Just like in our human lives, these crystals go through pressure, chaos and so many obstacles… ultimately revealing a beautiful transformation.

With the endurance of time and with effort, we become stronger and awakened.

From struggle and even tragedy, we transform into these beautiful creatures of light.

You can think of crystals as a symbol of the awakening of human consciousness —  from darkness, sorrow and fear you awaken to allow the light of healing, peace and love to shine through you.

If you’re in a sense of pressure in your own life, you can use crystals as a symbol of your own evolution and journey.

Crystals Withstand All Time, Space and Pressure

Whether you have them on as beautiful pieces of jewelry or as gorgeous accents in your homes, crystals can give you a sense of self-healing.

Through the years, I have established a collection of museum-quality crystals that I am proud to be the guardian of. I remember the woman I bought them from telling me that, “You do not own these crystals. You are simply their guardian in this lifetime. And they will far outlast you.”

To see their raw, magnificent beauty that has been carved through millions of years of pressure, trauma and obstacles to emerge as the glowing symbol of sparking light brings so much inspiration to my daily path.

You can bathe with them, sleep with them or put them in your pocket.

They can be a symbol of the light that purifies your mind, body and emotions.

They are a great reminder of the person you want to become on your journey of healing and natural weight loss.

Try having a deeper relationship with these gifts from the Earth.

Experiment and test out how you respond to them. Every crystal is unique, just as YOU are a unique and special soul.

Down 7 Inches In 4 Weeks!

Over the past 4 weeks, I have been getting ready for an exciting opportunity.

I will soon be shooting an infomercial about health and fitness and I’m so excited!

To be in my best shape, I challenged myself for 28 days.

I wanted to see how my entire body would transform.

And the results are incredible!

I lost 7 inches of body fat but gained 4 points up the scale.

Shocking! It doesn’t make sense!

But when you look into the science of the body, it actually makes complete sense.

What happened is that my body built lean muscles.

Muscles are more dense that body fat and they don’t take as much space.

So, I may be heavier in the scale now but my body is much more toned and it’s tighter than ever before.

 

 

Here’s how I did it.

START WITH AN INTENTION OR A GOAL.
Make the decision that you want to lose the body fat.  Realize that you are doing this for yourself.

 

BEGIN YOUR MORNING WITH A CALM, CLEAR MIND.
You want your mind to set you up to succeed.
Starting with a clear head stops the chaos and stress in your mind.
You become more focused all through out the day.

 

MAKE YOUR NUTRITION DIALED IN.
Eat healthy mini-Meals every 2-3 hours, about 5-6 meals a day.
These meals are a combination of lean protein, lots of vegetables and healthy fats.

Eat slow burning carbohydrates on the 5th or 6th meal or when the sun goes down.  Examples are brown rice, yams or quinoa.
Carbohydrates make you sleepy and having them at this time prepares your body for a good night’s rest.

 

HAVE A CHEAT MEAL ONCE A WEEK.
Once a week, eat whatever you want.

This would avoid the feeling of being deprived.  It would also jumpstart your metabolism once you go back to your healthy eating habits.

 

HYDRATE YOUR BODY ALL THROUGH OUT THE DAY.
Drinking lots of water helps you get get rid of all the toxins.  It’s great for digestion and keeps your metabolism optimized.

 

PRACTICE YOGA.
Personally, I practice Yoga twice a week.  It keeps my body flexible and it helps get rid of common aches and pains.

Yoga is also fantastic as it taps into the internal organs.

 

HAVE FUN.
This is the most important thing that I did.

Enjoy the journey and love the adventure.  Look for movements and activities that you find exciting.

When you are having fun, you keep coming back for more.

 

This is a sneak peak of the TrimTribe method that I followed during the entire 28 days.

I have proven this over and over again and I have the science and the results to back it up.
