From the constant ringing of our phones, going through heavy traffic, work deadlines, a messy house when you get home…it’s everywhere.

We see lots of reasons to be stressed out each day and we all know that this won’t serve us in any way.

It is particularly unhealthy to be in a constant state of chaos when we are going through our own weight loss journey.

I’m sharing with you a simple and effective tip that can turn things around.

It’s something you can do any time, any where and you won’t even have to lift a finger to do it.

Can you guess what it is?

It’s SMILING.

Buddhist monk and author, Thich Nhat Hanh wrote, “Sometimes, your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.”

And I couldn’t agree more.

Research has shown that smiling releases endorphins which are natural pain relievers and seratonin, the hormones that boost your mood and mindset.

Smiling relaxes your brain and de-stresses your body.

It soothes tension that you feel when you’re stressed out and it can lower your blood pressure too.

When you feel calm and peaceful, you tend to choose a healthier lifestyle…from your food choices to your daily activities.

Create Your New Year’s Goals and Make Them Stick

It’s 2017 and the time to make New Year’s resolutions has come once again.

The New Year is really an opportunity to set your goals to think about what you want to accomplish.

Your motivation is so strong right now and you feel unstoppable!

Now, how can you make these health goals stick?

Here are some great tips:

Tip 1:  Focus On Where You Want To Go, Not Where You Have Been.

There’s a saying that you create more of whatever you focus on.

Thus, focus on what you want and NOT what you don’t want.

Putting up photos of you when you were at your heaviest on the fridge is one of the worst things you can do.

You do this thinking that it will stop you from eating.

Unfortunately, this will just make you feel depressed.

Why not look for photos of women with bodies that you want?

Train your mind to focus on what you want to achieve.

Say “I want to be healthy and fit.” instead of “I don’t want to be fat or overweight.”

 

Tip #2:  Share Your Goals With A Friend Or An Accountability Group.

When you share your weight loss goals, it makes everything real.

You are putting it out there to the universe that this is what you want to achieve.

Join a group of people who are going through the same health journey as you are.

Someone will be always be there to remind you of why you actually set these goals.

 

Tip #3: Take Photos

A photo is the best feedback on how far you have come.

You will have a visual representation of your progress.

When you rely on what you see in the mirror, your perception can get distorted.

It’s so easy to get caught on the image that you see.

A photo on the other hand, is a great way to document your journey.

 

Tip #4: The More You Give, The More You Can  Receive.

When you help other people get what they want, you will be more abundantly blessed.

Giving and receiving is a cycle and it’s a important part of contributing.

Helping others makes you feel better, raises your health vibration and gives you more energy.

It will make you want to stick to your goals even more.

 

The New Year is a powerful time to make goals and start achieving them.

Never use it to beat yourself up and set expectations that everything will be perfect.

Remember that it is a journey…a continuous adventure.

You will have highs and lows, ups and downs.

The ultimate motivation is being able to accept what is without having to fight against it.

Let the weight loss goals be there to inspire you and lift you up.

If you’re not having fun, you’re not going to stick with it.

This is why diets and other weight loss programs don’t work.

Who would want to be around anyone who’s starving themselves, going through extreme diets and exercising until they couldn’t stand anymore?

They are  so moody, so irritable and they are not fun to be around.

Putting back the fun in fitness and health is the key to making it a lifestyle.

Do you remember the time when you were a kid and could not get enough of playing games and winning prizes?

Losing weight could be exactly like that if you want to.

Make a game out of it and give yourself prizes in the process.

First, set your target – your short term and long term goals.

When you hit your target, give yourself something that you enjoy.

You can buy yourself a new dress or hit the town for a nice meal.

Give yourself anything that makes you feel rewarded.

Playing games with friends is always fun.

Eliminate Cellulite The Natural Way

Cellulite is a common body issue that most women struggle with.

They are these pockets of fat found usually at the back of the thighs.

The fat cells are poking up through the connective tissue, thus giving the skin a dimply and wrinkly cottage cheese-like look.

There are so many products out there promising to help you get rid of cellulite.

From cellulite creams…to laser treatments…to pills that melt fat…

….practically anything that can persuade you to shell out a buck or two or even hundreds to smooth out that stubborn cellulite.

They may work but the results definitely don’t last that long.

I have found a 100% natural and healthy way to erase cellulite.

It doesn’t cost anything too.

It’s called Inversions.

Inversions are when you take some part of your body and you turn it upside down.

When you invert, you are actually turning your entire circulatory system upside down.

What happens is the valves inside of the veins that normally would run one way for hours would get totally relaxed and unclogged.

You’re going to get way more blood, way more circulation and then that is going to allow the connective tissue to stay open.

You can start with lying on the ground and putting your legs up against the wall.

Main InversionsYour legs are then inverted.

Try doing this for 15 minutes every day as a start and work your way up to more minutes and other kinds of inversions.

For those who practice yoga, you can do a bridge pose or a headstand.

Power Of Truth

There have been so many times along this journey where you could’ve stepped over the line into the false reality.

They are doing everything they can to seduce you.

Seduce you into taking ‘potions’…

Lure you into popping pills…

Shame you into starving yourself.

I could be doing this too.

I could be jumping on the bandwagon of other “experts” that are really paid spokespeople just selling you what you want to hear.

So why don’t I do it?

Because I couldn’t live with myself.

I’ve been through the journey of losing the extra flab and layers that were clouding my light…

I’ve stared at my reflection in the mirror wondering, “Where did you go?”…

I’ve felt the pain of not fitting into your favorite pants.

And maybe if I wouldn’t have gone through all of this, I would be “numb” to false lies and mis-truths that this industry feels so comfortable to extort.

… or maybe not. I guess we’ll never know.

It’s just so far from a possibility.

I have family members and loved ones that I care too deeply to ever breathe life into any of those lies of false hope and deception.

Through helping thousands and thousands of people to reclaim their inner light, it’s a deep satisfaction that no amount of money can ever buy.

Just this week, I was speaking with a woman in Australia who had enrolled in one of my first programs over … 8 years ago!

My heart is always filled up when someone shares their success story with me. It is an honor that will always be the greatest feeling when someone trusts you to surrender their path of health, and they receive the benefits that you intended for them to have.

She told me, “You were so different than all the other people and programs out there. I felt connected to you. You touched my soul.”

From that first choice she made to venture on this journey of dropping the extra weight, she has gone on to become a health inspiration to her friends and loved ones.

Wow!

No false statue could have ever touched her in that way…

All the way to the deepest part of her heart and being.

I guess that’s why they say, “The truth will set you free”.

The truth that it doesn’t have to be painful or destructive to your body…

The truth that you never have to starve or count calories again…

The truth that your body is able to heal itself now and forever.

That’s the only message that interests me.

It’s the only path to freedom.

Sugar Scripts for Any Occasion

Sugar has been a part of my life since I was an infant.  And believe me… I was not born with this superwoman “sugar-is-not-appealing” strength.

I had to go through so many times of breaking my addiction, then getting addicted again, then breaking the addiction, and getting addicted again before I finally figured some things out.

Now that I know how devastating sugar is to your weight loss goals and how it wreaks havoc in the body, I want to share some tips on how to handle yourself in social events where you are constantly offered sugar left and right.

Feartured - Sugar Scripts for Any OccasionAll of us have been in this situation…

You’re in a party and suddenly someone comes to you and gives you a piece of cake.

I believe that we deserve to have other options than just saying”Yes” out of guilt and eating that piece of cake.

If this is not the day that you planned to have your cheat meal, then there are several things you can do and say.

If you’re offered a piece of cake, you can say…

“No, thank you. I’m good, thanks very much.  Have you seen the rainbow today?  Wasn’t it lovely?”

This is called Deflection.

You say “No”, thank the person, and then follow it with a small talk about a general but interesting topic.

This will take the person’s mind away from the sugar and from recognizing that you don’t want sugar (which makes them question your sanity or wonder what’s wrong with THEM to not have the willpower to say no to sugar… none of which has anything to do with you).

If Deflection does not work, use an Excuse.

You can say, “No thank you. I notice that when I eat sugar, my skin breaks out.  Must be an allergy.”

Usually they stop at the word allergy.

In here, you give an actual reason and the person won’t take offense as you are taking full responsibility for your experience.

The Life-Changing-Event Excuse

The last step is to use when you’re confronted by a super aggressive sugar-pusher (aka your Grandmother) who may use guilt or even force to shove the sugar in your face.

This is when you need to pull out your big guns and go strong by saying that you are preparing for a contest or that you’re getting ready for a vacation at the beach.  Tell them that you’re feeling great about the progress that you have been making.

You can then follow it up with another conversation about something that interests the person. What is their absolute favorite thing to talk about? Use that in this context now. You will need all the secret weapons you can handle in order to block this level of attack.

In our society today where social events center around food and sugar for that matter, we will be faced with these challenges.

It’s best to tackle them head on with preparation and consciousness.

These scripts have been working for me for years.

So next time, when you’re in a party, you can try to use these lines and see how they work for you.

Cook Your Way to Weight Loss

Do you have the habit of relying on other people or places to feed you?

From fast food restaurants to a bag of chips in a convenience store, there is always a place where you can grab food, quickly and easily.

Every time you step outside your door, remember that you are venturing into a place full of temptations.

And you don’t want these temptations to catch you off guard.

Eating out can be treacherous because you don’t really know what they put in their dishes.

I’m not saying  that you can never eat out, but most of the time, you will probably be eating from home.

The fact is, cooking or preparing your own food is the only way to know what you’re eating.

You will be confident that you are able to nourish yourself with natural ingredients that are so important for your healthy weight loss journey.

If you have not done this before, a great way to start is to plan what you’re going to have for the week, or even for the next 2-3 days.

You can prepare your grocery list and buy the ingredients all at once.

Cooking Your Way to Weight Loss2Have a prep or cooking day for all your meals.

Put your cooked food in different containers and store them in the freezer.

This way, you can grab them when you’re in a hurry for a morning meeting or when you’re coming home tired from work.

Bring some packed healthy meals wherever you go so you won’t be limited to only one option which is to buy from a restaurant or a fast food drive through.

When you do this, you will know exactly that what you’re eating is great for you.

Your food will provide you with the nutrients that your body and mind needs.

This will help you eliminate cravings and avoid having chemicals in your meals.

Cooking and Preparing your own food may need some getting used to.

Trust me, when you learn this, you’re going to come to enjoy this time for yourself, and your confidence will increase more and more as you do it regularly.

Taking Care of Yourself is Not Selfish

As women, our society sees us as the nurturers.

We are the ones who take care of others even at the expense of ourselves.

We feel that we are selfish when we take care of our needs first before attending to the needs of others.

We go out of our way to do these things for other people and feel guilty when we do things for ourselves.

Now, I want you to pause, think deeply and ask yourself…

Is giving to others at the expense of yourself a positive experience for you?

Do you get to the point that you run out of energy because you have not taken the time to replenish yourself first?

I’m not suggesting that you stop giving to others.

Let’s just reframe your viewpoint of giving.

Be Your Number One Priority

Say this to yourself:

“It is not selfish to take care of myself.”

Say it again and this time, mean it:

“It is not selfish to take care of myself.”

When you take care of your needs first, you will give from a place of abundance.

You are fulfilled from within, and you will be able to give your best energy.

You will become a better lover, mother, friend, a better person.

Start by giving yourself one hour a day for your needs for you to take care of yourself.

You deserve to feel complete and cared for before you share yourself to the world.

And YOU are the best person to do that to yourself.

Learn the joy you get when you love yourself the most.

You’ll find that your ability to love and care for others increases infinitely.

Fat Melting Recipe “Turkey Chili”

Turkey Chili

Turkey, beans and chili…Who can go wrong with that combination? This dish has a rich and deep taste that lingers in your mouth.  It’s packed with natural power proteins that make you stay full longer and eliminate cravings. Enjoy every bit of its flavorful kick!

Ingredients:
1lb. of Ground Turkey ( ½lb. ground dark Turkey + ½lb. ground white Turkey works best)
1 Tbsp. Coconut Oil
2 Cans Diced Fire Roasted Tomatoes
2 Cans Lukewarm Water
1 Can Organic Black Beans (rinsed, drained)
¾ C. Red Onion
½ C. Red Bell Pepper/chopped
½ C. Yellow Bell Pepper/chopped
½ tsp. Chipotle Chili Flakes
1 tsp. Fresh garlic (minced)
1 tsp. Green Chili’s (diced)
½ Packet Stevia in the Raw

Turkey ChiliSpice Mixture for Turkey Chili:
2 Tbsp. Chili Powder
1 tsp. dried Oregano
1 tsp. granulated Garlic Powder
½ tsp. Cayenne Pepper (Turn up the AMP if you like more heat)
½ tsp. dried Cumin
1 Whole Bay Leaf
Dash of Nutmeg
Fresh chopped Cilantro (top garnish)

Directions:

In a small mixing bowl, combine all dry spices and set aside.

In a large Dutch oven, add diced fire-roasted tomatoes, 2 cans of water, black beans, bay leaf & Stevia.  Bring to a slight boil. Cover and continue to simmer.

In a large frying pan, heat coconut oil over medium heat.

Add turkey and brown thoroughly about 10 minutes, stirring frequently for even cooking.

Add dry ingredients to browned turkey and simmer for a 5 minutes longer.

Add turkey mixture to simmering tomatoes & beans.

Stir and bring back to gentle boil.

Lower heat and Simmer another 45 minutes. Serve hot with chopped cilantro.
