No More Migraines

Those who have suffered from migraines know that it’s a horrible experience.

I have felt the severe pain of this debilitating headache for years.

However, instead of just going to the doctors and asking for pills, I researched for more information about what migraines are.

 

WHAT ARE MIGRAINES?

They are the throbbing pain that is often followed by repeated attacks of serious headaches.  It affects usually one side of the head.

It is a neurological impulse that can be triggered by several things.

It gives a sensory warning such as nausea, vomiting, blind spot, extreme sensitivity to light and sound and even tingling in the arms and legs.

 

ANATOMY – WHY DO WE GET MIGRAINES?

  1. The vertebrae may be out of place. This will push on a nerve and create a neurological impulse that is very extreme.
  2. There will be pressure in the blood vessels.  This, in turn irritate the nerves reducing blood flow.
  3. Blood vessels in the head then expand to offset reduced blood supply.  The sudden expansion irritates the surrounding nerves and this causes the throbbing pain of a migraine.

 

CAUSES OF MIGRAINES

Hormonal Imbalance
Hormones that are out of whack can trigger inflammation of the body.  This is going to put pressure in the nervous system.

Toxicity
If there are more toxins in the body than nutrients, your body cannot make healthy cells and this will cause your body to break down.

Food Sensitivity
When you have an allergic reaction to food, every cell of the body is going to respond.  Its way of manifesting this is an inflammation.

Digestive Functions and Infections
If your body is exposed to damaging substance, your body is going to fight it. There are many infections that become chronic and can take over body systems.

Adrenals and Thyroids
When a woman is under stress, her adrenal glands release hormones to protect her. Our environment is so full of stress that this system begins to break down.

 

WAYS TO MANAGE YOUR MIGRAINES

Drink Water
Expanding the nerves and eliminating as much as the inflammation as possible can stop headaches.  Drinking lots of water is the fastest way to do this.

Learn To Breathe
By increasing the oxygen that your body receives through breathing, your body will have the opportunity to release waste products as well as bringing more of the number 1 nutrient which is oxygen to the brain.

Practice Yoga
Practicing Yoga specifically Inversions like Downward Dog  will change the blood flow from your head.

There will be an increased circulation that is moving through your neck that will cause plenty of open passages.  The blood is flowing, the oxygen is moving and the inflammation is decreased.

Don’t Hang Out With Negative People
This causes stress in the brain. Need I say more? 🙂

 

Migraines are a symptom of something else that is off in our bodies.

Masking these symptoms with pills and other procedures may cause more harm than good.
